Windows Defender moved from beta to release this week. For some reason they still ship definitions that are almost a year old. Why have people download the product and then connect for updates?

Given the recent disclosure of people's search habits, and the reports of Goverment requests for extended log retention, I though using something like Tor might be a good thing. I guess the Tor network is overloaded, as it is very slow. I know that I shouldn't give up on it. The best thing would be to run a Tor server and help out, but for the moment, I've stopped using it.
